Halloween is a holiday celebrated on 31 October of each year. It is expected that the 2021 Halloween will be held on sunday 31 october. According to history.com the tradition originated with the ancient Celtic festival of samhain, when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghost. In the eight century, Pope Gregory the III designated November 1 as a time to celebrate all saints. Soon, the all saints incorporated some of the tradition of the samhain. The ancient celts believed the dead returned to earth on samhain and would celebrate with bonfire and other practices to honour the deceased.

The evening before was known as all Hallows Eve, and later Halloween. Over time, Halloween evolved into a day of several activities like trick or treating, carving jack-o'-lantern, festive gatherings, donning costume and eating treats.
